5 Stars The Quintesential Poodle Grooming Guide!
This book is the quintesential grooming guide for poodles! Its very detailed and has lots of graphics/pictures to help. Very well organized, great infomation, and a good reminder that all groomers earn every penny the hard way!
5 Stars A must have for Poodle grooming
The absolute definitive guide for grooming poodles, whether for pet trims or show. Lots of photos, and very good descriptions. She guides you in what grooming tools are necessary and how to use them. Lots of different instructions for loads of different pet trims. Anyone can learn to groom their Poodle with this book. It was the first book I got on Poodles and its the one I always recommend to those wanting to dabble in grooming their own.
4 Stars Great book even for beginners
This book was so perfect for anyone who has a poodle. I have never clipped a poodle before this book and recieved compliments on the cut I gave my poodle. It is very thorough with step by step instructions along with pictures. I recommend it highly, even just for the knowledge of general at home care between groomer visits.
5 Stars Best Poodle Grooming Book
This book has been so helpful to me with my new standard poodle puppy, I am grooming him myself and this book covers so much more than grooming.
5 Stars Almost as good as a class
I have owned poodles all my life, but never dared to clip one. I now have two standards and decided it was time. With this book (and a prayer) I have clipped my first standard poodle and she looks terrific! I followed the directions for the specified clip (Miami) and all went very well. It may not be a perfect job, but she looks darned good. I’ll do her brother tomorrow!

Angels Eyes Tear Stain Eliminator for Dogs 240 Gram Bottle

Angels’ Eyes is the first product specifically developed for BOTH DOGS & CATS to eliminate unsightly tearstains from the inside out! Angels’ Eyes also helps to eliminate staining around the mouth and their coats due to licking. Other products are topical requiring high maintenance and yet will only remove the tear stains temporarily causing it to return worse than before. Angels’ Eyes starts working before the tear stains begin and never adds food dyes or wheat which can have negative effects on your pet. All of our ingredients are products of the USA.

5 Stars Angel Eyes is remarkable!
We own 2 shih tzu’s. Our male, Cody is constantly licking his legs and paws. His face, along with his legs and paws were totally discolored (kind of a rusty orange. Cody is buff and white in color. He never looked clean. After a couple months of using Angels Eyes I could see nice clean color from the roots. Now a few monthe later Cody is beautiful! NO discoloration at all. It is fantastic. And not really as expensive at it seems, as it lasts a long time. I highly recommend this product.
5 Stars Awesome
This works great. I dont have to clean my maltese’s face nearly as much as I used to. When I take pictures of him I am no longer distracted by ugly tear stains. The only drawback is getting him to eat it. I have to mix it in wet food and feed him separately from my havanese.
5 Stars Dogs eyes
I didn’t believe what I had been told about this product, but figured anything was worth a try to help my little white poodle not look like he had two black eyes. Well, this is just unbelievable - within days, I could see it start working ! Every day now, I give him about a Tablespoon of shredded reduced fat cheese with his Angel Eyes sprinkled over it - that way I am assured that he eats it daily as he won’t miss a chance to have people food. Highly recommended !
5 Stars Works great!
We have a rescue maltese, so she had lots of staining! We started using Angels Eyes and she looks amazing! She still has a little bit of brown, but that will be gone when she is groomed next time.
5 Stars Works Great!
This product is amazing! It got rid of the tear-stains on our white Bichon Frise within a month!

2 Stars Good book
Delivery was prompt. Book was more worn than expected but still good. I would buy from this seller again.
4 Stars Good book for beginner
Good book as far as teaching the fundamentals and explaining why things are done the way they are. It just didn’t help me as much as I expected because it lacks details on grooming specific breeds.
5 Stars Great book for the novice or professional
I am teaching myself to groom dogs and find this book to be the biggest help available!
2 Stars More like Dog Bathing For Dummies
This book was a disappointment: was not about grooming your pet to a certain cut, or which parts to do first, blade differences for paws and ears, but more about how to get your dog into a tub or be brushed. Some nice tips on getting nasty things out of fur, but anything more than that, the book seems to recommend going to ask your local pet groomer to teach you. Not helpful for folks looking to undertake seriously grooming their pet. I did try the Everything Dog Grooming book, which was much more helpful.
4 Stars Dog Book
Well written and informative.Fairly good on the “how to” subject and very good on general dog subjects such as dog health, dog maladies and the basics.

User Ratings and Reviews
5 Stars Must have item!
If you have a dog and it is getting close to summer (i.e. shedding season) you need this tool. It works better than just a regular brush. It is great for any dog that sheds.
5 Stars Great Product!
We bought our FURminator about a month ago and just love how it cuts down on our lab’s shedding in the house. We use it every few days, and it really gets rid of the undercoat. He seems happier, too, not to have as much fur to deal with in the warmer weather. It’s super easy to use—my 10-year-old can do it and actually asks to FURminate the dog! Our neighbor borrowed it recently for her lab, and now she wants to buy one, too. We highly recommend this product.
1 Star Don’t waste the money
I “borrowed” one from a friend of mine that is a licensed groomer. She had one in her box of “junk” and let me try it. She did warn me first. “DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY”! The shedding combs work just as well and they don’t remove ALL the fur from the poor animal. Believe it or not, sometimes these dogs with the thick heavy double coats of fur rely on a lot of it for insulation! If you used this item on your pet for 30 minutes, it would be bald! When I was finished, I was too embarrased to take poor Burger out of the house! I hope he’ll forgive me someday. *LOL* He looked like he was in the middle of Chemo treatments! At least I didn’t make the same mistake with this as I had in the past with the Dyson vacuum. I guess I’m a lot like most people; the more it costs, the better in must be. NOT! Don’t waste your money on the Dyson either. A $175 Eureka works just a well…..actually better, with better accessories.
5 Stars Definitely impressed
I received my furmminator today and immediately went to work on my lab/chessie mix who is shedding like crazy this time of year. I was amazed (and completely disgusted) at the amount of hair that came off at the first brushing. I think it will take several days of initial sessions to get all of the dead hair removed. I was also impressed at how healthy and shiny her coat looked after just one brushing.
I also used it on my Maine Coon cat (very long hair) and it removed a PILE of hair. Because he is a typical cat, it will take many sessions and a lot of patience to really make a difference - this is no fault of the furminator - he has the same reaction to ANY brushing.
I am so excited to have finally found a brush that quickly and easily removes SO MUCH HAIR! I’m already planning to buy furminators as gifts for my pet loving family and friends!
4 Stars FURminator
We have two dogs with LOTS of hair — this is one of the most helpful grooming aids my husband has used for our dogs. It is rather amazing to see how much fur comes off, and how little the dogs mind being “deep-brushed” this way. The only thing that was not very helpful — for man’s hands at least, is the rather slender handle.

User Ratings and Reviews
2 Stars Good but has room for more information…..
The DVD is a bit expensive for it’s contents. Despite of all the good reviews, never once in the entire DVD did he explain how to trim the dogs legs. He only demonstrates how to trim the bottom of the paws. Needless to say, if you are like me that owns a dog with long hair or wants to do a kind of style cut on your dogs legs like the round ball cut on a puddle’s lower leg or any other type of style you will be clueless.
4 Stars Helpful
I thought this dvd was a big help as far as seeing what the featured groomed dogs are supposed to look like afterward. Two things bothered me: 1)the dogs were TOO well behaved and that’s not realistic. And 2) it really bothered me when the groomer wiped his nose after grooming the back end of a dog. Ewwww.
All the same, this dvd was worth the money to me.
2 Stars Doggie Cuts
This DVD was not what I thought it would be. Was hoping to learn how to do a proper shave on my poodles but it only showed how to do a trim on long haired dogs.
4 Stars good
the video was very helpful especially the poodle cut, i did learn alot, they could have shortened the bathing part and showed a little more grooming, over all very good, the only thing that could have been better is to be able to review different segments, instead of having to watch the whole thing over.
5 Stars Ahorre dinero!
Family Dog
April 27, 2009 by Pet Shampoo · Leave a Comment

Widely recognized as one of the great dog trainers of his time, Richard Wolters’s tested techniques continue to endure. Family Dog was the first book written for any member of the family, from age six to sixty, who wants to train a dog fast. By following the book’s simple instructions, anyone can have a well-trained dog in just sixteen weeks. In Family Dog Wolters teaches: * How to choose the right dog for your family and lifestyle
* The benefits of play and relaxation
* Talking with your dog– it’s not what you say, but how you say it
* All the fundamentals of training– house-breaking, basic commands, and tricks
* Tips on grooming
* The best dog diet in the world
* First-aid and medical advice, and much more
More than 200 all-new pictures in chronological, step-by-step sequence illustrate exactly what to do with your pet in a way that takes the frustration out of training and works for all breeds and any age.
User Ratings and Reviews
5 Stars Simple, locigal, and totally effective!!
This book is a great book for a first time dog owner or someone with years of experience. Many training methods today seem to rely on doggie psychology and can seem very if-y. But this book and the information is proven and logical. Wolters shows a method of training that is simple to follow and really does make sense. It have continued to work over the years. We have had many dogs, mostly goldens, and we followed this book and ended up with exceptional dogs. There are thousands of methods for dog training out there, but this method seems to hold up the longest. The book is interestingly written and included photos as well. It is also a good book for even a young dog owner to read, since the information is straight forward, logical, and effective!!! You can create a wonderful family dog.
1 Star Great if you plan to hit your dog
I read every review on here before I bought a copy of this book. So I knew that the author promoted spanking the puppy when it misbehaves. But the reveiews were so good that I thought I could filter through those “spanking” parts of the book and be able to extract the pearls of wisdom. When I actually received my copy, I read it in two days. The book was such a disappointment! In every chapter he insists that you spank or hit your puppy. In one part he even says “thrash the dog with fervor”! He suggests that you hit your puppy with a folded over lease until the dog cries out! I don’t know about you, but I have a lab and even if someone is hurting them, they don’t usually cry out. This author is recommending to hit the puppy until you get that response. Then he says that you should teach your children to hold their hand up to the dog in a threatening manner to keep the dog in place! This is out of date and barbaric means of training a dog. I am not an animal rights activist, I’m just a pet owner. But I see no reason to teach people that the only way to have a well behaved dog is by hitting it into submission. Read the other negative reviews on here if you are concerned. They were very accurate and I wish I would have heeded that advice and had chosen NOT to buy the book. I don’t want any author profiting from the sale of this book because he recommends violence toward our pets.
5 Stars Enough already with catching Spot doing it right! Train your dog!!!
Folks: I was so happy to find Wolters’ _Family Dog_! I had used his _Game Dog_ (though not a hunter) on a previous dog about 20 years ago, but wanted something less for the hunting set.
This book is it! Let me also say, I went to B&N and read Amazon.com and considered all of the other books that simply remind me too much of modern educational pedogogy. Alot of praise at the expense of a well behaved dog. Wolters’ book has pictures, is simple enough for a kid to use AND he let’s you say, “NO.”
This book feels right! And the proof is in the pudding–our 12 week old pup is learning to master the key commands and is already a great family member.
BUY THIS BOOK; leave the other books for new dog owners who a) need excuses for their pups; b) who are scared to be the Alpha dog; or c) who would prefer to never utter the word “no” (really, I bought a book like that insising that you say “Agghhh…” rather than “NO” since “no” had so many negative connotations…)
5 Stars family dog
I ordered this book for my son who recently got a house dog. The book was sent to him. But I know, from past experence, hhat richard wolters fooks are great. They are easy to follow and the results are outstanding.
4 Stars Good Foundation
I think the book is a good starting point. The video presents a different housebreaking method, and is far easier for the entire family to understand. The video is better for the entire family, but the book should be read by the main decision maker. We rewatch the video frequently to pick up pointers on our current stage.
